The EACH Winter School 2017 took place in Sweden, at Uppsala University, Erken Laboratory<\/a>. It appears to have been a memorable experience for all participants, especially those from southern countries. For example, quite some people had never walked on ice in their life, not to speak about jumping into water from sauna or under ice fishing! We were able to experience the best of Sweden \u2013 Swedish food, nature and hospitality, which was spiced up and complemented with exotic dishes and participants\u2019 enthusiasm!<\/p>\n

General information:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year, Winter School (WS) is held in the second half of January (duration: approximately 1 week).\u00a0EACH programme\u00a0Winter School\u00a0usually takes place in one of the four countries: Estonia, Sweden, Finland or\u00a0France.\u00a0It includes (1) short courses on novel and timely topics of analytical chemistry and metrology in chemistry delivered by external scholars, including individual\/group work by students, (2) presentations by second year students on the progress of their master theses and (3) presentations of the professors and teachers of UU, UCBL and AAU for first year students on the specialization possibilities offered at the second year universities and potential master’s thesis topics, followed by discussions and interviews and concluding with selection of students for study tracks. All consortium students participate in the WS.<\/p>\n
