Looking back on the EACH program: Quang-Dong Bui

Currently, the Euroanalysis 2025 conference is taking place in Barcelona, Spain. A graduate of the EACH program, Quang-Dong Bui (EACH 2022-2022), is also participating and reflecting back on his experience with the EACH program:

Dong, Ivo, and Pamela

Dong: Time flies – it has already been three years since graduation from the EACH program. I still vividly remember that all the lectures in my first year were held online, except for laboratory work, due to the Covid situation. Despite this challenge, the quality of the program was never compromised. I truly admire how quickly the program adapted to ensure students had the best possible learning environment and the knowledge needed to succeed after graduation.

During those years, we didn’t just gain academic knowledge – we also developed essential presentation and research skills, while becoming mentally prepared for the next steps in our careers. The journey was made even more extraordinary thanks to the care and guidance of Ivo, Anu, and our friends. Many of us have stayed in touch, and I feel grateful for that continued connection.

I was especially happy to meet Professor Ivo Leito and my friend from the Lyon track, Pamela Rivera, at the Euroanalysis conference in Barcelona in 2025. It was a wonderful chance for reunion – sharing life updates, reflecting on our journeys after EACH, and seeing how much we have grown both personally and professionally.

Currently, I am pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Belgium, focusing on advanced separation techniques with applications in oligonucleotide analysis for impurity profiling. I can confidently say that the EACH program prepared me well for this path.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the lecturers and professors in the EACH program, especially those I had the chance to work with closely: Professor Ivo Leito, Dr Koit Herodes, Dr Irja Helm, Professor Daniel Globisch, Professor Jonas Bergquist, and others. I wish you all good health and hope you continue to inspire and guide future students with the same dedication and excellence.
